About

ConvertOnDevice is a free file converter for images, PDFs, audio and spreadsheets — with one difference from most online converters: your files are never uploaded.

Most converters send your file to their server, convert it there and send it back. That's slow, it caps how big your files can be, and it means a stranger's computer holds your documents, photos and spreadsheets. Here, the conversion runs inside your own browser using open-source libraries such as pdf.js, pdf-lib, SheetJS and LAME. The page downloads the converter; your files stay put.

Because your device does the work, there are no file-size caps, no daily limits and no sign-up. The site is paid for by light advertising and, soon, an optional Pro plan.
