How to convert FLAC to MP3
- Choose or drop your FLAC files. You can add several at once.
- Check that “To” is set to MP3.
- Press “Convert to MP3” and download the results — or all of them as one ZIP.
FLAC vs MP3
FLAC — Free Lossless Audio Codec. FLAC compresses audio without losing any quality — about half the size of WAV. Audiophiles use it for archiving, but many players and car stereos cannot play it.
MP3 — MPEG-1 Audio Layer III. MP3 is the universal compressed audio format. At 192 kbps it sounds close to the original for most listeners at about a tenth of the size of WAV.
Convert FLAC to MP3 when you need a file for music libraries, podcasts and playing on any device. FLAC is better suited to archiving music without quality loss.
FAQ
5Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. The conversion runs in your browser using your own device’s processor. Your files are never sent to a server, so nobody — including us — can see them. You can even disconnect from the internet after the page loads.
Will I lose quality?
Audio is encoded to MP3 at 192 kbps, which sounds the same as the original to most listeners. Because FLAC is lossless and MP3 is not, the file gets much smaller but is no longer bit-for-bit identical.
Is there a file size or daily limit?
No limits, and no sign-up. Because nothing is uploaded, we don’t pay for your conversions and have no reason to cap them. Very large files are limited only by your device’s memory.
Can I convert many FLAC files at once?
Yes. Add as many files as you like; each is converted to MP3, and “Download all” saves them together as a ZIP.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. It works in any modern browser — Safari, Chrome, Firefox or Edge — on phones, tablets and computers. Older or low-memory phones may be slower with very large files.
