How to convert HEIC to ICO

    1. Choose or drop your HEIC files. You can add several at once.
    2. Check that “To” is set to ICO.
    3. Press “Convert to ICO” and download the results — or all of them as one ZIP.

    HEIC vs ICO

HEIC — High Efficiency Image File. HEIC (HEIF) is the default photo format on iPhone and iPad. It is about half the size of JPG at the same quality, but many Windows apps, websites and older devices cannot open it.

ICO — Windows icon. ICO is the icon format used for website favicons and Windows app icons. One .ico file holds the same picture at several sizes, so it looks crisp in a browser tab, on a taskbar and on a desktop.

Convert HEIC to ICO when you need a file for favicons and Windows icons. HEIC is better suited to storing photos on Apple devices.

    FAQ

    5
    Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. The conversion runs in your browser using your own device’s processor. Your files are never sent to a server, so nobody — including us — can see them. You can even disconnect from the internet after the page loads.

    Will I lose quality?

The icon contains six sizes — 16, 32, 48, 64, 128 and 256 pixels — each stored as a PNG, so transparency is kept. Non-square images are centred on a transparent square rather than stretched. Start from a simple, high-contrast picture: fine detail disappears at 16 pixels.

Is there a file size or daily limit?

No limits, and no sign-up. Because nothing is uploaded, we don’t pay for your conversions and have no reason to cap them. Very large files are limited only by your device’s memory.

Can I convert many HEIC files at once?

Yes. Add as many files as you like; each is converted to ICO, and “Download all” saves them together as a ZIP.

Does it work on iPhone and Android?

Yes. It works in any modern browser — Safari, Chrome, Firefox or Edge — on phones, tablets and computers. Older or low-memory phones may be slower with very large files.
