How to convert MP4 to MP3
- Choose or drop your MP4 files. You can add several at once.
- Check that “To” is set to MP3.
- Press “Convert to MP3” and download the results — or all of them as one ZIP.
MP4 vs MP3
MP4 — MPEG-4 video. MP4 is the most common video format — phone recordings, downloads and screen captures. Its sound is usually stored as an AAC audio track inside the file.
MP3 — MPEG-1 Audio Layer III. MP3 is the universal compressed audio format. At 192 kbps it sounds close to the original for most listeners at about a tenth of the size of WAV.
Convert MP4 to MP3 when you need a file for music libraries, podcasts and playing on any device. MP4 is better suited to watching and sharing video.
FAQ
5Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. The conversion runs in your browser using your own device’s processor. Your files are never sent to a server, so nobody — including us — can see them. You can even disconnect from the internet after the page loads.
Will I lose quality?
Only the sound is kept: the video's audio track is decoded and saved as MP3 at 192 kbps. The picture is discarded. The whole video is read into memory, so very long recordings (an hour or more) can be slow or fail on phones.
Is there a file size or daily limit?
No limits, and no sign-up. Because nothing is uploaded, we don’t pay for your conversions and have no reason to cap them. Very large files are limited only by your device’s memory.
Can I convert many MP4 files at once?
Yes. Add as many files as you like; each is converted to MP3, and “Download all” saves them together as a ZIP.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. It works in any modern browser — Safari, Chrome, Firefox or Edge — on phones, tablets and computers. Older or low-memory phones may be slower with very large files.
