How to convert GIF to PNG

    1. Choose or drop your GIF files. You can add several at once.
    2. Check that “To” is set to PNG.
    3. Press “Convert to PNG” and download the results — or all of them as one ZIP.

    GIF vs PNG

GIF — Graphics Interchange Format. GIF is an old image format limited to 256 colors, best known for short animations. For still images it is usually larger and lower quality than PNG.

PNG — Portable Network Graphics. PNG is a lossless image format that supports transparency. Every pixel is kept exactly, so it suits screenshots, logos and graphics with sharp edges or text.

Convert GIF to PNG when you need a file for screenshots, logos, graphics with transparency and images you will edit again. GIF is better suited to simple animations and very old software.

    FAQ

    5
    Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. The conversion runs in your browser using your own device’s processor. Your files are never sent to a server, so nobody — including us — can see them. You can even disconnect from the internet after the page loads.

    Will I lose quality?

PNG is lossless, so the converted image looks exactly like the decoded GIF. Files are often larger than GIF, especially for photos. Only the first frame of an animated GIF is kept.

Is there a file size or daily limit?

No limits, and no sign-up. Because nothing is uploaded, we don’t pay for your conversions and have no reason to cap them. Very large files are limited only by your device’s memory.

Can I convert many GIF files at once?

Yes. Add as many files as you like; each is converted to PNG, and “Download all” saves them together as a ZIP.

Does it work on iPhone and Android?

Yes. It works in any modern browser — Safari, Chrome, Firefox or Edge — on phones, tablets and computers. Older or low-memory phones may be slower with very large files.
