How to convert GIF to WEBP

    1. Choose or drop your GIF files. You can add several at once.
    2. Check that “To” is set to WEBP.
    3. Press “Convert to WEBP” and download the results — or all of them as one ZIP.

    GIF vs WEBP

GIF — Graphics Interchange Format. GIF is an old image format limited to 256 colors, best known for short animations. For still images it is usually larger and lower quality than PNG.

WEBP — WebP image. WebP is a modern image format from Google. It produces files roughly 25–35% smaller than JPG or PNG at similar quality and supports transparency.

Convert GIF to WEBP when you need a file for websites and apps where page speed matters. GIF is better suited to simple animations and very old software.

    FAQ

    5
    Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. The conversion runs in your browser using your own device’s processor. Your files are never sent to a server, so nobody — including us — can see them. You can even disconnect from the internet after the page loads.

    Will I lose quality?

WebP is saved at 92% quality and keeps transparency. Files are usually noticeably smaller than GIF. Only the first frame of an animated GIF is kept.

Is there a file size or daily limit?

No limits, and no sign-up. Because nothing is uploaded, we don’t pay for your conversions and have no reason to cap them. Very large files are limited only by your device’s memory.

Can I convert many GIF files at once?

Yes. Add as many files as you like; each is converted to WEBP, and “Download all” saves them together as a ZIP.

Does it work on iPhone and Android?

Yes. It works in any modern browser — Safari, Chrome, Firefox or Edge — on phones, tablets and computers. Older or low-memory phones may be slower with very large files.
